To round off these enriching interviews, we invited our CEO Aline Deparis to share with us her vision on the LGPD’s trajectory and the next steps.
How do you assess advances in privacy and data protection over the last five years?
Over the last 5 years, progress has email data very significant, both in Brazil and around the world, particularly in terms of raising awareness of people’s rights over their personal data.
We certainly have a long way to go, taking into account that data protection is a complex issue that involves legal, technological and social issues.
What have been the main impacts of the LGPD in the last five years since its implementation?
I believe that strengthening the rights of pyramid and extremely squeezed text subjects has had a very positive impact. People have come to better understand how their data is being and, consequently, demand more transparency from companies. In addition, the LGPD has encouraged companies to adopt measures to comply with the legislation, involving the review of privacy policies and contracts with third parties, causing a cultural change to some extent.
This was exemplified in the application of the first fine that was recently applied, reinforcing the debate around the ANPD’s active surveillance in relation to compliance with the legislation.
What technological advances or emerging trends do you believe could significantly influence the implementation and ongoing compliance with the LGPD in the coming years?
Artificial Intelligence is already being cmo email list and represents a significant advance that ensures greater speed and assertiveness. It can by companies in different ways, such as chatbots, facilitating communication with consumers and even as a security mechanism to help in cases of cyber attacks.
