This story happened in the distant pre-crisis year of 2008. But I decided to write about it today, because at present the situation for most businesses has not changed despite the crisis.
Once in 2008, I was working in the hero city of
Minsk and was looking for a new car. The choice was small, but I wanted a Mercedes the most. I just wanted it…
But by the will of fate, from being a Mercedes lover, I became an anti-evangelist of this brand.
And it all happened thanks to some inconspicuous employee of one of the Mercedes dealers in Minsk.
It was like this. I was searching for a car on
The Internet and came across the website of a Mercedes dealer, the company Energia GMBH. turkey telegram data As a buyer, I was looking at different brands and then I came across a phrase something like: “And this trunk is not bad for carrying potatoes from the dacha . ”
I realized that one of the marketers decided to
Make a joke, but the joke was so stupid that, as a business consultant, I wrote a letter on the site that the joke was really out of place when selling premium for the logo of a m ,ical institution cars. I asked in the letter that they take this into account.
Without a second thought
I continued choosing a car, when someone started calling me (the phone number was required in the feedback form). They were calling from the Energia GMBH company, and apparently it was that marketer who came up with the stupid joke. The marketer was apparently offended by my letter, and he decided to show off his coolness instead of selling me a car (that’s what “sales sharks” are like these days).
The man didn’t introduce sault data himself and immediately started being rude, trying to explain to me that I’m not the target audience for premium cars (I don’t understand where he got that from) and things like that.
In general, a couple of minutes of insults and sarcasm on his part were rather strange.
I hung up, but immediately closed the site, and I tell this story to many of my friends. And since I am a business consultant and my circle of contacts consists of 90% business owners, such anti-advertisement of Mercedes is just the right thing.
At the same time, I have no complaints about Mercedes. I think these cars are excellent in their class… but there is a bad feeling… And this bad feeling is passed on to many of my friends. By the way, among all my friends and clients, only a few drive Mercedes.
Apparently I subconsciously choose such people
What I’m getting at. What I’m getting at is that business owners often invest resources, money and resources into advertising and marketing. They polish up business processes, and then some asshole salesman suffering from an inferiority complex kills sales at the root by showing his ego to the client.
